Lisa Maddern is a ceramic artist from the Southern Tablelands of NSW, Australia. She works in an off grid studio on a rural block of land.
Lisa's work explores movement, texture and the quiet presence of the natural terrain around her. There is a quiet simplicity of form to her work, where understated essential lines shape her pieces.
Lisa's tableware consists of considered objects designed to heighten everyday observances. They are made to be held, used and lived with.
Lisa also makes bodies of work and individual pieces that bridge functionality and artistry. They are expressive works that are gallery ready and invite contemplation of form, surface and material presence.
Throughout each year, Lisa delivers workshops for those interested in learning ceramics, honing their craft or for those wanting a rural immersive experience. These workshops are listed on her instagram page as they arise.
